Key workers
On Friday evening 20th March school principals received information from the Minister of Education with information that schools would be remain open provide daycare to parents of key workers . You can view the extensive list on https://www.education-ni.gov.uk/faqs-schools-opening-children-key-workers
Our first task in Scoil an Droichid is to compile a list of those stated key workers who require day care for their children. If you are in this category and where there is no other childcare option available you must contact the school before 5pm this evening at info@scoilandroichid.belfast.ni.sch.uk.
The senior management team will be meeting this evening to carry out a risk assessment to ascertain whether the school can be prepared for opening on Monday .
Part of the risk assessment will be to ascertain which staff are available ie those not in the ‘at risk’ category or instructed by GP to self-isolate.
We had also been instructed to close to minimise the risk of infection transfer at a time of national crisis. It is vital that we are still able to comply with this ultimate reason for closure .
We will therefor only be able to provide day care to those children based on capacity.
We understand that this is a worrying time for all but we will continue to update as and when we receive information from DE and or EA
